It my first visit to the Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in Delhi and I was pleasantly surprised by the expanse, chic decor and design of the hotel. The luxury spa, Shanaya, was an urban oasis of tranquility.

Shanaya means ‘first ray of the sun’. So, that name for the spa shouldn’t come as a surprise since it practically compliments Leela Ambience Convention Hotel’s setting. After all, there can be no greenery without the sun! So after checking into the property, my footsteps were toward that first ray. We reached level four of the Club Tower and walked to the spa that conveniently sits between the two towers of the hotel.

A chat with the spa manager revealed that Swedish massage and Aroma therapy are one of the most popular massages at Shanaya.

The Spa has five treatment rooms including a  couple suite. Each treatment room has a different name and purpose.

Now both the massages, were full body nurturing massage that use traditional medicated oils. Think of it as a bespoke, fragrant amalgam designed to promote “recovery”, “vitality” and “serenity” among other things. And with the therapy’s routine of long flowing strokes and concentration on Marma Points, it was a healing time for body, mind and soul. My treatment started with a foot ritual & the therapist then gave a dry massage for my back followed with full body oil massage.

The entire 60-minute treatment, lead to increased blood circulation, toning of the muscles, lubrication of the joints and elimination of impurities from the outer body.  Their therapists are very well trained.

The session ended well with steam therapy.
We came out with a big smile on our face.  🙂  I’m glad i have unearthed a hidden gem in Delhi for Spa lovers.

The best part is that they have a SPA offer going on for women and senior citizens.
A complimentary access to their Fitness Centre & Swimming pool along with the 1 hour Spa treatment & Buffet Lunch at Cafe Knosh at just INR 2749 inclusive of all applicable taxes. Valid between Monday – Friday (10 am – 6 pm). Their team of passionate chefs prepare sumptuous buffet.
Trust me, it was worth it! 🙂
