LeEco has been in the Indian market for just six months,  but has impressed with its portfolio of SuperPhones so far. After the Le Max 2 which is vying for the title of ‘flagship killer’ , its more-affordable sibling, the Le 2, is trying to make headway in the strongly contested segment. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the Le 2 looks great!

The LeEco Le 2  has a 5.5-inche In-cell display with 1080p HD resolution. Powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor which is paired with 3GB RAM, the Le 2 delivers a buttery smooth performance.

Like most phone makers,  LeEco uses its own custom UI over Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with its own set of themes and customisation options. LeEco has made slight changes in the user interface from the one we saw in its predecessor. They have has added a news aggregator window on similar lines as HTC’s Blinkfeed service.

For the camera, LeEco Le 2 features a 16-megapixel shooter alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The fingerprint sensor of the LeEco Le 2 is on the back panel right below the camera lens.

Since USB Type-C is getting popular, the LeEco Le 2 indeed has a USB Type-C port. The battery capacity is 3,000mAh, enough to last a long day with medium usage.

The phone’s key highlight is the audio quality, with the headphones that are bundled with the phone. These headphones are CDLA equipped which prevent sound loss during transmission. As a result, the sound in the headphones is one of the best we have heard in any smartphone in this budget segment.

The all metal exterior feels really solid and lends it the look and feel of a premium flagship smartphone. The flat side and back panels give it a slab-like look but the grip is good. It weighs 153g which is less than what an average 5.5-inch smartphone weighs.

Conclusion: At Rs 11,999, LeEco Le 2 is a good deal. Remember that it comes with a 1 year subscription to LeEco Membership where the users will have access to over 2,000 movies (in 10 languages) and over 100 live TV channels. LeEco Le 2 is an impressive addition to the budget segment  with good looks, impressive display & decent performance.
